Snap Inventory

Know what you have.
And where.

One list of what you sell, with the stock in every place you keep it. Stock comes in from suppliers, goes out at the till and on invoices, and its cost lands in your accounting on its own.

Built for small businesses in Singapore. Free for 5 items, unlimited on Pro 365.1

Every item, every place, and what is still free to sell once issued invoices are counted.4

Add it once.
Every count follows it.

01

List what you sell

Name, SKU, barcode, price and cost. Sizes and colours become variants, each with its own stock.

02

Stock it in

Record what arrived from a supplier, into the shop, the warehouse or the van. The supplier is filed into your contacts.

03

It goes out as you sell

Snap POS takes it off at the till. An issued invoice commits it, and it is deducted for good once the invoice is paid.

04

Count and correct

Run a stock take for one location, see the difference, and finish. The stock is corrected with the reason on record.

S$568.00 of stock went onto your balance sheet. Not into your P&L: it is stock you own until it sells, and its cost reaches the P&L then.2

The average cost moved by itself. 44 beans at S$12.00 and 44 at S$11.00 make 88 at S$11.50, and that is the cost every sale uses from now on.6

Nothing was typed twice. Bean Roasters is in your contacts, S$51.12 of GST paid is in your GST F5 figures, and the bank balance went down by S$619.12.3

How we compare

Snap Inventory vs a spreadsheet

A spreadsheet is a fine stock list on the day you make it. Then something sells, something arrives, and somebody has to remember to change the number.5

This is not the end
of this module.

Ask for something and it gets built. Every account has a Feedback button that raises a real ticket, read by the person who writes the code. If it would help more than one Singapore business it goes into the module and lands in every account, usually by the next working day.

Need it to work with a tool you already use? Ask the same way. We check that it can be done and tell you straight. You subscribe, by card or PayNow, we build the connection, and you try it on your own account. If we cannot make it work, you get your money back.

Before you sign up, [email protected] reaches the same place.

From a customer

“An entry point for a small start-up, without being overwhelming.”

“Looking for an easy way to manage my small business, I came across Snapbook.AI. This solution has an entry point for a small start-up, not overwhelming, while having more sophisticated features for future scaled-up operations. Had a chance to speak to the founder Kevin and was greatly encouraged that he listens to his clients, big or small, and is always open to see how he can improve the client experience. Snapbook.AI not only provides a solution, but provides the relationship management as if you are a big corporate. Very glad to chance upon this software.”

It does not stop at the stock list

The rest of your back office is on the same system.

The stock you count is the stock your till sells and your invoices commit, its cost lands in the same P&L as your receipts and payroll, and your suppliers are the same suppliers in your contacts.

Snap Inventory comes with Snap POS as one module. Pro 365 is every module for S$365 a year, plus every module we build after you subscribe.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Is Snap Inventory free?

Yes, for up to 5 items, with every feature included and no card. Snap Inventory and Snap POS are one module, so the 5 items are shared between them. For unlimited items take Pro 365 at S$365 a year, which also gives you every other Snapbook module.

Can I track stock in more than one place?

Yes, from day one. Add a shop, a warehouse, a van or a second outlet, hold stock in each, move stock between them, and see the stock value of each location.

Does it handle sizes and colours?

Yes. An item can have up to 3 options, such as size and colour, and every combination has its own SKU, barcode, price, cost and stock.

How is the cost of an item worked out?

As a weighted average, automatically. Each stock in blends the new cost with what you already hold, and that average is the cost used when the item sells. The cost pre-fills when you stock in, and you can change it for each delivery.

Does buying stock go into my P&L?

No. Stock you buy goes onto your balance sheet as stock you own. Its cost reaches your P&L when it sells, so your gross profit is real, and stock lost or found at a stock take adjusts the P&L. The GST you paid on it is still in your GST F5 figures.

What happens to stock when I send an invoice?

An issued invoice commits the stock on it, so every item shows what is on hand, what is committed and what is free to sell. It is deducted for good once the invoice is fully paid. Picking an item on an invoice shows what is in stock.

How does a stock take work?

Start a stock take for one location and enter what you count. You see the difference against what was expected, and when you finish, the stock is corrected with the reason on record.

Can I stop staff seeing or changing costs?

Yes. Inventory access is its own permission, separate from the till, so a cashier can sell at Snap POS without being able to change stock or costs.

Stop counting it in your head.

Add your first 5 items, say where they are, and let the till and your invoices keep the count. Free, no card.

  1. Snap Inventory and Snap POS are one module. The free plan covers up to 5 items across both, with every feature included, no card and no time limit. Pro 365 at S$365 a year removes the item limit and includes every other Snapbook module. There is no separate monthly price for this module.
  2. Stock you buy is recorded on your balance sheet as stock you own. The cost of what sells is posted to your P&L when it sells, at its weighted average cost, and a difference found at a stock take is posted to your P&L when the stock take is finished. This is not tax or accounting advice.
  3. GST is 9% and applies only from the registration date you record on your own account. GST paid on stock is included in the GST F5 figures Snapbook assembles from your own records; Snapbook does not file anything with IRAS on your behalf.
  4. The screens on this page are drawn to show how Snap Inventory works, not photographed, and every name and figure in them is invented.
  5. The comparison is with a stock list kept in a spreadsheet, which is how most small businesses in Singapore begin. If a row here is wrong, tell us at [email protected] and it will be corrected.
  6. Cost is a weighted average per item, recalculated at each stock in from the quantity and cost already held and the quantity and cost received. For an item with variants, each combination keeps its own cost.
