The drawer knows it owes S$45.00. That cash is part of what the shift expects when you count it at close, so a short drawer shows up the same day.

Six items came off the shop’s shelf. Not the warehouse, not the van: the till sells from its own location, so every place keeps its own count.

The accounting was done by selling. S$41.28 of sales and S$3.72 of GST went into today’s line, and S$19.50 of cost of sales went with it, so your gross profit is real.6

How we compare

Snap POS vs a standalone POS subscription

A standalone POS rings up the sale well. Then the day’s takings have to be carried into your accounting, and the customer lives in a list of its own.5

This is not the end
of this module.

Ask for something and it gets built. Every account has a Feedback button that raises a real ticket, read by the person who writes the code. If it would help more than one Singapore business it goes into the module and lands in every account, usually by the next working day.

Need it to work with a tool you already use? Ask the same way. We check that it can be done and tell you straight. You subscribe, by card or PayNow, we build the connection, and you try it on your own account. If we cannot make it work, you get your money back.

Before you sign up, [email protected] reaches the same place.

From a customer

“An entry point for a small start-up, without being overwhelming.”

“Looking for an easy way to manage my small business, I came across Snapbook.AI. This solution has an entry point for a small start-up, not overwhelming, while having more sophisticated features for future scaled-up operations. Had a chance to speak to the founder Kevin and was greatly encouraged that he listens to his clients, big or small, and is always open to see how he can improve the client experience. Snapbook.AI not only provides a solution, but provides the relationship management as if you are a big corporate. Very glad to chance upon this software.”

It does not stop at the till

The rest of your back office is on the same system.

A sale at the till takes stock off the same list your invoices use, lands in the same P&L as your receipts and your payroll, and the customer is the same customer in your contacts.

Snap POS comes with Snap Inventory as one module. Pro 365 is every module for S$365 a year, plus every module we build after you subscribe.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Is Snap POS free?

Yes, for up to 5 items, with every feature included and no card. Snap POS and Snap Inventory are one module, so the 5 items are shared between them. For unlimited items take Pro 365 at S$365 a year, which also gives you every other Snapbook module.

Do I need special hardware?

No. It runs in the browser on a laptop or tablet you already have. A USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner and an 80mm receipt printer work with it if you want them, and you can sell without either.

Can I take card payments?

Yes, on your own card terminal. Take the card on the terminal as you do today and record the reference at the till, so the sale and its payment method are on record. Cash, PayNow, bank transfer and split payments are taken at the till itself.

Does it work with PayNow?

Yes. The till shows a PayNow QR for the exact amount of the sale, and your customer cannot change it. The money goes straight from their bank to yours.

Can I run more than one till or outlet?

Yes. Set up several tills, each selling from its own location’s stock, so the shop, a second outlet and a market stall each keep their own count. Reports show sales by till and by cashier.

How do shifts and cash counts work?

Open a shift with the cash float, record any cash in or out during the day, and close it by counting the drawer. The till shows what the drawer should hold against what you counted.

Does it handle GST?

Yes. Show prices with or without GST, as you choose. A GST-registered business gets a tax invoice receipt, and the day’s sales post to your P&L split by GST treatment, ready for your GST F5 figures. Nothing is filed for you.

Can a cashier sell without changing stock or prices?

Yes. The cashier permission is separate from inventory, so a cashier can sell without changing stock or costs, and a setting decides whether cashiers may change prices at all.

Set up your first 5 items, open a shift, and ring up a sale in the browser you already have. Free, no card.

  1. Snap POS and Snap Inventory are one module. The free plan covers up to 5 items across both, with every feature included, no card and no time limit. Pro 365 at S$365 a year removes the item limit and includes every other Snapbook module. There is no separate monthly price for this module.
  2. The PayNow QR follows the EMVCo standard, and the amount in it cannot be changed by the person paying. The money goes directly from your customer to your own account; Snapbook does not hold or move it. Card payments are taken on your own terminal with your own card provider; the till records the method and the reference.
  3. GST is 9% and applies only from the registration date you record on your own account. Figures are worked out from the sales you record; Snapbook does not file anything with IRAS on your behalf. This is not tax or accounting advice.
  4. The screens on this page are drawn to show how Snap POS works, not photographed, and every name and figure in them is invented.
  5. The comparison is with a point of sale bought as its own subscription, as a category, and not with any one named provider. Providers differ, and some rows will be true of some of them and not others. If a row here is wrong, tell us at [email protected] and it will be corrected.
  6. Sales are posted to your P&L as one line a day for each GST treatment, and recorded as cash or bank on your balance sheet by how they were paid. Cost of sales is posted from the weighted average cost of each item sold. Refunds are posted as their own line, so a day you may already have reported is not rewritten.
